Welcome to the Hilton Harriers Senior Men’s Football Club Chairman’s report

Hilton Harriers is a community based football club established in 1992 and we have grown from one team to this season fielding 32 teams. The teams range from the age 5 right through to a Veterans side with over 400 boys and girls and men involved in playing in these categories. The club is one of the largest clubs in the East Midlands and we have won numerous awards including Runners Up in the FA National Community Club 2013, FA Charter Standard Community club for the East Midlands, Derbyshire Sports Club of the year and 4 times winner of South Derbyshire Sports Club of the Year.

The club is solely run by volunteers who give their time to make grassroots football accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

The Men’s First team will play in the Central Midlands South League starting this season (2017/18) and the Men's Reserve team will play in the Staffordshire County Senior 2nd Division. The First team changed league this forthcoming season from the Staffordshire County Senior Premier.

I’m proud to say the club operates very professionally and we have a fully supported committee which includes Secretary, Treasurer and a fundraising team. The committee is represented by a player from each team who liaise between the teams and the committee with any issues that they wish to be discussed or addressed. We also use these player representatives to inform the team of what’s happening within the club. We have two experienced managers for both sides with many years’ service to the club; we also have 4 coaches to help and assist the managers who participate on the committee. The players support the club and attend various events that are held to raise money or just regularly socialise after each game.

We are supported well by various sponsors of the club which promote their services through advertising boards around the pitch and within the website pages. Our shirt sponsors are OVISO who have donated money to the club back in January 2017 and will support our club until the end of 2019 season with a club fixture board soon to be erected outside at the front of the building which will state when our next games are due to be played.

Our other sponsor is the Dragon at Willington who are supporting us by producing loyalty cards where all players will receive a discount when using one of their public House including The Boot at Repton and Harpers at Melbourne. They have agreed to donate a sum of money from those takings over the year.

Our plans for the forthcoming years is quite simple, we will work hard to progress the football club in the direction and status it deserves by recruiting within the club from the younger age groups, promote the football club within our community and by improving the facility and ground with the help of volunteers within the Football club and support of locally businesses.

If you’re interested in playing or know someone who wants to get back into football and play for Hilton Harriers, or feel you have something to offer our club, please contact myself and I will be very happy to talk to you and discuss.

I would like to thank all our sponsors in supporting our football club today and in the future. Also to our spectators and volunteers who fantastically support in all weathers and prepare and serve food after each home match for the opposition and the officials to our hospitality.
